CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) – Cleveland Metropolitan School District (CMSD) officials said “deep-level vent cleaning” will be done at Tremont Montessori during next week’s spring break.
In February, elevated levels of radon were detected in several of the rooms.
According to the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), any radon levels higher than four picocuries per liter should be addressed and Tremont Montessori had four areas in the school basement with elevated levels, including the gym.
A CMSD official said Constant Read Monitors (CRMs) have already been installed in the affected rooms and the building remains “a safe learning and work environment.”
